A May Opening for the Otis Café in Taft

We are happy to announce an early May opening of the beautiful new Otis Café in Taft. We will be open from 7 AM to 3 PM with no dinners, but with all of the breakfast and lunch favorites you’ve missed on the menu, as well as our delicious baked goods. Our new location has a bakery twice the size of the original Otis Café, a takeout window, plenty of parking, and our original neon sign. As the Lincoln City Homepage shared,

“Salem Sign Company, who held onto the original sign for the owners after the fire, recently reinstalled it at the Lincoln City location. Tye England, co-manager of the restaurant and son of the owners, said he was emotionally moved by its first lighting since that fateful day in July 2019.”

We love and miss the wonderful people of Otis, but we’re close by and we look forward to seeing and serving all of you.

  1. I was so happy to see that sign as I drove down to Taft last week. Looking forward to a wonderful lunch or ten in May!

I was lucky enough to have eaten at the Otis Cafe one year to the day before it burned down. We love visiting the Oregon Coast and look forward to eating at the new Otis Cafe location. BTW, we even donated to the rebuilding of the new restaurant on Go Fund Me. That’s how much we enjoyed eating at the Otis.

Cannot wait! So glad you all were able to re-open! I hope business is even better than before! (If that’s possible!) ❤️

Can someone please clarify. Is the Otis Cafe in Lincoln City also known as being in Taft? Will the original Otis Cafe in Otis be rebuilt?
    Thanks

Taft is a district in Lincoln City. As you drive through town you’ll see signs for the different districts (Oceanlake, Nelscott, Delake etc). There are 7 districts known as the string of pearls. The Taft district is in the south part of Lincoln City. The Cafe is from the same owners and while they do still plan on rebuilding the original, it’s ran into lots of delays. From what I’ve heard, they ultimately plan on having both locations. I am so looking forward to going back for some German Potatoes!

  5. I drove through Taft yesterday and saw people eating inside. Does this mean an early opening? I sure hope so! We locals have all missed the England family so much!!!

  6. We had to cancel our trip to Oregon last year due to Covid and we always look forward to eating at the Otis Cafe. We were so upset when it burned down. We are scheduled to take our trip this October and are so happy that we will be able to go to the OTIS Cafe after all.

  7. THE ENGLAND’S ARE GOD LOVING PEOPLE AND SO ARE THERE EMPLOYEES. WHILE YOU ARE IN THERE EATING OR AFTER SOME GOOD TREATS , TELL THEM GOD BLESS YOU AND THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING THAT YOU HAVE DONE TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. ALSO MAKE SURE YOU TIP VERY VERY WELL AS THEY SPENT A LOT OF MONEY TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN FOR YOU.

  8. I am so happy to see that this wonderful cafe’ is coming back from such a sad 2019. I love the food and prices that made it so worth waiting outside for the meals I’ll be have to stop in June 2021. so excited and I hope the seasoning is still up for sale too. I’m going to buy it just like homemade bread.

  9. We always have Otis Seasoning salt at home. Bought a pound prior to the last time there and still use their little glass shaker that we bought many, many years ago. Keep the bulk of it in the freezer in a closed container. Still have about a shaker left & about time to buy some more! So happy to see that the
Otis Cafe will be open soon!

  10. Willing to be a beta tester/taster for the new place. Just let me know when to show up to help ?
